The Confusion and the Doubts You Had Up and Walk Away

Met her halfway to Birmingham
Leaving middle Tennessee
Made a speech to say inside my head
Swore that I’d say everything

“I’ve been giving you my life, and I’m always on time
Four years are enough to decide, whether I’m you’re kind.”

“And I’ve been thinkin’ bout the country
Thinking bout you and me.
I’ve been thinking where I do belong
And why, you belong with me.”

In frustration she had bowed her head
And I could hardly breathe
Reminisced on the times we had
But said that she would have to leave

“It’s hard, hard to walk away from you
But we don’t live at the same speed.
You’re gonna make somebody happy.
But that someone, ain’t me.”

“Cause when you’re thinking bout the country
You’re just trying to be with me
Seasons change the way that we are
and spring changed me.”

Met her halfway to Birmingham
Leaving middle Tennessee
Made a speech to say inside my head
Swore that I’d say anything, to keep you here

A Bright New Day Awaits Us

I keep thinking that each semester that passes I will start to appreciate school, however its seems as though each semester that passes I think and hope more and more about my future and the jobs my life with entail. I guess it doesn't help either that my brother lives in Manhattan, the Mecca of fashion and art. Each time I go to visit him I begin to count down the days until I can finally move there.

I love Tennessee but it is about time for me to pack up and pursue what I have always dreamed of doing. Working for Tibi this summer made me appreciate and understand a fashion company more as a business and not just a high fashion clothing producer.

"Live each day as if it's our last', that was the conventional advice, but really who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn't practical. Better by far to simply try and be good and courageous and bold and to make a difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Go out there with your passion and your electric typewriter and work hard at...something. Change lives through art maybe. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance."
